This Western restaurant in the Philippines is called EZ EATS CEBU, which has a simple and natural décor where customers can enjoy a wide range of Western-style food. Due to various factors such as market and cost, the restaurant started to serve Chinese-style food.
So, the owner had the idea of renovating the kitchen. He approached Chefmax for help in replacing his old Western restaurant equipment and adding Chinese equipment for a complete Western restaurant solution. In addition, the owner wanted the fastest delivery possible, as he wanted the kitchen to be up and running as soon as possible.

After understanding the requirements, Chefmax's sales staff decided to save space by using universal equipment, considering that the kitchen area would remain the same while adding more equipment. Mainly gas-fired equipment that can cook both Chinese and Western food.
First, according to the local requirement of 2000 gas pressure for gas equipment in the Philippines, Chefmax matched a complete set of gas equipment that complies with the regulations to ensure smooth installation and use. A list of one-stop kitchen refrigeration equipment was also provided, including refrigerated cabinets, freezers, beverage display cabinets, ice machines, and instant freezers. Customized stainless steel worktops and shelves were also fabricated within seven days, and all of this equipment was shipped assembled to save on shipping costs.
When deciding the size, the staff realized that the restaurant would have more than 100 diners during peak hours and recommended a 6-burner gas range and a lift-top dishwasher. The hood-type dishwasher washes 40-55 dishes per minute and is ideally suited to meet peak dishwashing demands.
There were also gas fryers, grills, and barbecues, which offered different cooking styles and made for a varied menu. Meanwhile, depending on the size of the kitchen and the placement of the gas appliances, a 2.5-meter ventilation hood was recommended to purify fumes and exhaust gases and keep the air clean.
More Efficient Space Utilization
To save space in the kitchen, we suggested that the owner adopt an L-shaped layout in the dishwashing area to increase space utilization. Two tables were placed on either side of the dishwasher to ensure that clean dishes were separate from dirty ones.
We also recommend the hanging double shelves. It is smaller than the vertical shelf and can be placed directly over the worktop. That makes it easy to reach and handle items without having to walk and turn around too often, helping to make the kitchen more efficient.
In addition to indispensable cooking equipment, refrigeration and cleaning equipment are equally well equipped, and they provide a good start and an efficient finish to the kitchen. Freezers and coolers keep ingredients fresh - fresh ingredients are always a customer favorite. Ice machines add a chilled taste to drinks and coffee.
